A family run business who proudly make a scrumptious full bodied craft cider using classic Somerset apple varieties and traditional techniques. Apples from nearby gardens and orchards are perfect for the job so we put out requests for unwanted ‘windfalls’.

We have 5 generations worth of cider making knowledge. Just like our traditional production methods, we use only traditional Somerset cider apples to make our cider. We have 3 orchards of our own which produce apples such as Red Streak, Dabinet, and Michelin.

Mad Apple Cider is made from some of the finest traditional cider apples to be found in Somerset. Proprietor Ian Cunneen prides himself on being able to say that Mad Apple is 100% natural, with nothing added and nothing taken away.

Ham Hill Cider is made only from Somerset vintage cider apples, by us in Somerset. We aim to make the cider we want to drink, rich in flavour and heritage, but also refreshingly appley and smooth. We believe we’ve cracked it.

There have been many changes since Gordon Rich started pressing cider apples at Mill Farm, although essentially the production of the juice is still traditional. We are a family run business producing Traditional Farmhouse Cider with locally harvested Somerset apples.

Twisted Cider love cider it's their passion. You'll be able to sample their different ciders from Desert Dry, a traditional dry cider rich in tanins and bittersweet in flavour. Wild Orchard a delicious sweet cider, Sunset, a delightful medium dry cider and Misty, a lovely blend of South West apples, light bodied and fruity.

Father & son team Richard and Alan produce around 3,000 litres of traditional 100% juice product a year made with traditional apples sourced from local orchards in the heart of Somerset. Whilst It is still mainly a hobby for them, they have won prizes at many leading competitions at Country Shows, in particular The Bath and West Show – worlds premier competition. This include two firsts (gold) and a second for the premium french style Keeved. Both Alan and Richard are experienced judges and both give talks on the history and heritage. Alan has also written three books on the subject.

Based at the Barley Wood Walled Garden in Wrington, they make traditional styles of cider and pure apple juice on an antique manual press. With over 60 types of old English apples grown in the unsprayed orchard, they continue the garden's 100 year-old tradition of cider making

Ben Crossman comes from an important line of Somerset cider makers and has been making cider for more than 36 years, after a conversation with his Grandfather, Victor Naish about wanting to have a go at using his equipment. Crossman’s Cider has grown from strength to strength and Ben continues in his Grandfather’s footsteps of producing good, clean, traditional farmhouse ciders still using the same traditional methods.

NEMPNETT CIDER
The Nempnett Cider Company is a local family who produce Cider & Perry picked and pressed in the
traditional way. Using 100% Vintage cider apples and pears, most of which are hand picked from their
own orchards at Nempnett Thrubwell, Somerset. A few years down the line and after lots of hard work they have achieved a number of awards in acknowledgement of their efforts. Winning three 1st place awards for their 'Piglets Perry'
made with pears from 180 year old pear tree's and 'Piglets Choice Cider'. Then in 2017 received news
that Piglets Perry was voted 'The Best Perry In The Nation’.

Moons Cider is made on Woodbine Farm in Glastonbury by a new young cider maker called Tom Moon. He uses no artificial colour, flavours or preservatives, producing a dry traditional Farmhouse cider.

Their traditional method sparkling cider and single orchard blends are made from hand-picked traditional cider apple varieties found in their small orchards. The apples are gently pressed and the cider made in their winery with a respect of traditional methods and modern winemaking knowledge. They make dry ciders with a distinctive character which appeal to both cider and wine drinkers alike.
